LA So far....

It's been nearly 5 months in LA. Wanted to write this blog since long time.... As soon as classes started, there were so many things coming one after another, just could not find time at all... Anyways, can write more stuff now...

Hmm.... Let me start from my journey from Bangalore to LA. It was route via Dubai with 6 hrs gap to the next connecting flight from Dubai to LA. I had to do lot of stuff to prepare for Master's adventure in my last month, so ended up travelling late and could not find many travel mates and one I found disappeared in Dubai airport. To my bad luck, the flight landed an hour early and had to spend 7 hrs now alone. I found white lady at a public telephone kiosk and i was not sure how to make call to home in India.. So, asked her how she is making a call, she give her extra calling card that she had purchased and said it's just 5 bucks don't worry about it when asked how much it costed and disappeared.... I quickly converted that to Indian rupee... It is approximately 250 Rs. Back home, I would not have bothering to give a rupee to any stranger who would approach me for help and thinking that person might be a cheat. I was wondering are americans that rich or too courteous.... It took a while for me to stop converting every damn thing after i reached US. I think this might be the case with everyone who travels to US on their own money... Sorry for the digression, I just made a quick call to home and spent my hell boring time in airport and finally reached LAX airport where I found the folks whom I met in Bangalore and on facebook.

Then, we had to take Prime Time shuttle to flat where my rommies had arrived a week before me. The cabbie made me lift the heavy luggage (3 bags) that i had packed for the maximum weight allowed by airlines and few 100 grams more actually as airlines people don't bother for those extra grams. Cabbie told me com''on man give a hand, dont simply stand... The Prime time shuttle was very simplier to our Hyderabad's shared auto. We were 4 Indians, a Chinese guy and an american who entered the cab after couple of minutes.. Guess what he was also shouting "DOWNTOWN LA!!!". I was laughing at that inside, but just kept it to a controlled laughter. After 20 minutes, we had reached our flat.

Soon after I came here, had to get lot of things done like opening bank account, getting a mobile phone, few crazy university orientations, get stuff for house blah blah.... Time went just like that and the college (SCHOOL) had already started. Here at USC, there was college for Arts and humanities and a school for Engineering and most american universities have schools for engineering and I dont know why!!!

Soon the college started, time went on assignments and assignments and little reading. Many assignments had coding, I would never mind that anyways..... Hmm.. Will continue writing in next blog....
